There are a lot of things that you can see and do in and around Perth. The Kojonup region has been home to the Noongar Aboriginal people for many of thousands of years, and they had enjoyed a nomadic lifestyle, with the lands being home to freshwater springs and many animals. The Noongar people are the traditional custodians of the Kojonup region and are able to share with you there traditions and beliefs and the beauty of the land.

In 1837 the land was used for its rich pastoral qualities. A military settlement was established in Albany near freshwater springs. There are now four farm stay properties in the region that will give visitors a look at the day to day running of a working farm. You can experience life on the land mustering sheep and chasing the chickens just like one of the farm hands. Tour some of the oldest buildings in Western Australia, dating back to the 1840’s. This region hosts the Annual Wildflower Festival during September and October, showcasing world famous Western Australian Native flora. Visit many magnificent and significant local gardens that are opened for public viewing by the Australian Open Garden Scheme. Kulikup, which is around one hours drive from Kojonup has its Tulips with a Difference, as over 120 varieties of tulips flower in a most spectacular display of color. Stop in to see the Kojonup Visitor Centre to find out what local events are on during your stay. There are lots of Visitor Centers located throughout Western Australia, and all have local information and maps. Staffed by local people with local knowledge, they will be able to advise you on the attractions and activities available to suit. When organizing your rental car use carrentalperthairport.com.au. Just three and a half hours drive south of Perth you find the Town of Margaret River. Margaret River started as a relaxed surfing location, but has become one of Western Australia’s best holiday locations. There are around sixty wineries to visit in the Margaret River region, these wineries produce just one percent of Australian wine, but out of this one percent of wine, the wine from this region makes up to fifteen percent of this is Australia’s premium wine. This area is known for its world class wine, boutique breweries, and local produce. Margaret River produces cheeses, jams and condiments, olives and freshwater crayfish. You can even make a visit to the chocolate, fudge or ice-cream factories and try out the amazing products created.

As much as Margaret River is for food, wine, and beer, it is also famous for its natural attractions. There is of course the surfing and magnificent beaches that run along the coastline, but you will also find some beautiful coastal walking trails. Bush land walks and rides are a very popular activity for tourist and locals. There are many great adventures to be had in the Margaret River region, underground caves and beautiful rainforests. There are some great fishing locations, where you may catch some of the local snapper. Good fishing can be found in the rivers and from the beaches. My holiday made perfect using Perth Car Hire

It was decided that we would be going to Perth for our holidays this year. I wanted to see what there was to see and do, we had never been to Western Australia and I had scenes of desert before my eyes. Doing a little surfing on the net I soon discovered that there was much more to Perth than I had thought. There are many walks and trials around Perth especially in the Swan Valley and Perth Hills. Such beautiful wildflowers can be found mainly in the spring time. These areas are beautiful all year round, but I want to see them when the wildflowers are in bloom. Trails and tracks in these areas are for walkers’ right through to those looking for a four wheel drive experience. You will find walking trails from easy through to long and often challenging tracks. There are tracks for mountain bikes also. Perth’s Eastern Region has many bush land experiences to enjoy. The Eastern Region of Perth is a great way to experience Western Australia’s wildflowers. The Western Australian Tourist Bureau has many ideas and maps for getting the most out of your wildflower experience with all the information on when to come and even how to get there.

When it comes to car hire I’ll be hiring through carrentalperthairport.com.au. They are able quote from many different companies on a large range of vehicles. I think using the Western Australian Governments tourism site makes me feel more comfortable when choosing what to do and where to go. They have taken a lot of care in developing the walks and trails through the Eastern Region of Perth. By using this site you can also check if there are any special requirements for the tracks. Some walking trails are not for beginners and should only be attempted by experienced hikers. All walks and rides will provide you with unique bush land experience. We will be sticking to the easier walks this time, but with a little confidence and some regular walking I can see us booking a trip to Perth again, I have so many other walks to aim for. The scenery will take your breath away.
